Most all my oils are

done from a study

painting.  Then after

preparing the canvas

I do a monochrome

under painting.  Once

dry I procede with

several coats of

scumble and glazing

until I get the desired

depth of the painting. 

I have tried other

ways of painting in oils,

but for me this way

feels the best. Even

though it takes longer

to do than a wet on

wet, the end results

are more like a photo

finish.
