Monuments

While I worked for the Monument Companies
I found myself doing pictures of the person
that had pasted away, pictures of the persons
home-place, deer in wide open fields or in the woods,
and many other things along that line. I kept
teasing with the guys there I wanted to put a
dragon or a castle on a stone. One day I came to work
and they handed me a picture of Disney's Castle and said
you got your wish. You have to put this on a stone, along
with Minnie and Mickey. I learned my lesson, I cried the
entire time I was doing this stone. I never again wanted to do a Castle.

I had done many of the double line drawings
For praying hands and roses, but this was
My first set done in etching and litho paint.

Cambridge, Ohio

This was a usual request for a monument,
I found out when I started working at
The monument Company that drawing
Deer are one of the hardest animals to do.
They are not quite a cow, or a horse, or a
Goat, they have their own distinct build.
